AMSTERDAM, - Ajax Amsterdam defender, Jan Vertonghen, revealed that if he wanted to play in the Premier League, and the goal is Tottenham Hotspur. For him, Tottenham is a tremendous club.
"I think Tottenham is a great club and you see how well what they are doing this season. They are in the top three Premier League and that's where I want to play," he said as reported Skysport.
Belgian international player is thought to be some transfer radar is in top English clubs like Tottenham, Arsenal, Manchester City and Newcastle United. The reason he did not want to renew his contract with Ajax though will expire next summer. However, he refused to reveal whether there is contact with other clubs.
"I can not say anything about whether there is contact of the transfer. But, I think my game can be adapted to English football. It's nice to be connected with the club, rumors gave me confidence, but I'm just trying to do my best every game," he said.
"I like the atmosphere and has the world's best players. One of my goals is to play in the best league in the world and against the best players," add later.
